According to authorities, Jose was found lying near the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders from the Phoenix Fire Department arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, Jose was sadly pronounced dead.
Police say the driver involved, 27-year-old Camry Bridges, remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment. Investigators later determined that Jose was crossing McDowell Road, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was fatally struck by a silver Toyota Camry driven by Bridges.
